For many, December 1st is the beginning of the holidays. To Janet it’s the toughest part of the month.
Janet quit drinking five years ago to get her life back on track, but it’s been tough. She suffers from hernias and endometriosis and needs six teeth pulled. Janet works hard, but the bills are due and her checks come in the middle of the month. She doesn’t know how she’s going to make ends meet.
Poverty robs people of dignity, hope and the power to determine their own future, but together we can make a difference. The Dallas Morning News Charities funds 25 local organizations that help those who are homeless, hungry and able to rehabilitate.
