Together, We Can Keep North Texas Kids Fed This Summer
When school cafeterias close for summer, thousands of North Texas children lose access to the most reliable meals they receive each day.
Texas continues to face one of the highest rates of food insecurity in the nation and across North Texas, 1 in 5 children may not know where their next meal will come from.
As summer approaches, thousands of children across our region lose access to the school meals they rely on every day. For many families, those meals are the most consistent source of nutrition their children receive. When school lets out, that support disappears — and the pressure on families grows.
That’s why The Dallas Morning News Charities is proud to launch its annual Kids Summer Feeding Campaign, running from May 18 through August 17, with a goal of raising $300,000 to help provide meals, snacks, and grocery support to children and families across North Texas during the summer months.
In partnership with 11 trusted North Texas nonprofit organizations, this campaign helps ensure children continue to receive nutritious food during a time when need is high and donations traditionally slow.
Your support helps bridge the gap for families working hard to stay afloat.
Our nonprofit partners include: All Community Outreach, Arlington Life Shelter, City House, Cornerstone Community Development, Irving Cares, The MINT Foundation, Mission Oak Cliff,
Sharing Life, The Storehouse Community Center, Transition Resource Action Center and Wilkinson Center.
Because The Dallas Morning News Charities covers all administrative costs, 100% of every donation goes directly to nonprofit partners providing food and support to children in need.
